General Itinerary:
Day 1: A.M. – Interpretive 3-4 hour nature walk with your choice of tour:
Explore Long Beach in Pacific Rim National Park with Long Beach Nature Tours
Hike a sandy, surf-swept beach, exploring the tideline & watching for shorebirds. A chance to stretch your legs and enjoy the salt air... Scope the outer waters for whales, sea lions, seals and seabirds - they'll be closer than you think! Venture into the intertidal - the zone between the tides, and discover a world that's sometimes land, sometimes ocean. Visit centuries-old trees, to discover some of the amazing secrets of the Old-Growth Rainforest.
An easy morning walk through prime bird habitat where there are waterfowl and shorebird reserves of international significance. This walk offers our best survey of local west coast bird species. We cover a variety of habitats, and see shorebirds, seabirds, and forest birds.
P.M. – Hot Springs Cove via float plane with Atleo Air
Spend an afternoon soaking in the majestic sulphur springs at Hot Springs Cove. Let the warmth take you back a couple hundred years to a time when the visitors to these springs consisted of local and visiting First Nations. Keep a good look out during this 15-minute flight for whales and other marine mammals. After landing in the protected waters of Hot Spring Cove you will arrive at the well-maintained boardwalk. The hot spring pools are entirely natural and are filled from a source deep beneath the bedrock. The water rises to the surface and cascades over a ten-foot waterfall before filling the pools then running into the ocean. The temperature at the waterfall is 51 degrees Celsius or 124 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature of the pools decreases gradually as they descend to sea level allowing for a variety of temperatures to suit anyone’s comfort level
Day 2: A.M. - Begin your day with a hot stone massage or an in suite professional massage treatment
P.M. – Leisure Cruise to the heart of Clayoquot Sound with Browning Pass Charters
A leisurely wildlife cruise aboard a 36’ canoe cove charter yacht to various destinations in Clayoquot Sound. This is a great alternative for those who find open ocean adventures too rough. As all trips pass through the calm waters of the inlet, it is unlikely any large swell will be encountered. Upon request arrangements can be made to take your group anywhere in Clayoquot Sound such as Meares Island & Hot Springs Cove. As this is a private charter, any activity, tour or sightseeing adventure accessible by water can become a reality.
