General Itinerary:
Day 1: Barkley Sound by boat and kayak, cabin cruiser or zodiak.
Full day trip to the Broken Group Islands with Majestic Ocean Kayaking, Archipelago Nature Cruise or Aquamarine Adventures.
Kayak Tour: The tour starts off with an exciting half hour ride by boat in the early morning with our kayaks, guide and gourmet picnic lunch. On one of the 100 islands in the park amongst the quiet coves and sheltered bays our guide prepares everyone for a day of adventure. Kayaks are set up for each person, seats adjusted, pedals adjusted. Lessons are given and safety concerns and procedures are explained.
After a few hours in the morning we will stop on one of the nearby sandy beaches for a gourmet buffet lunch. As the day progresses, wildlife such as eagles, shore birds, sea lions, seals, mink, river otters, and possibly whales will be sighted. We will weave in and out of the many islands and get in close to look at everything. We may choose to hike into the old growth forest at one of our stops. Our boat will pick us up in the afternoon to have us back in Ucluelet by 5:00 pm”
By cabin cruiser: The tour begins in Ucluelet Inlet, an active fishing harbour, rich in history and blessed with an abundance of wildlife. Upon entering the Broken Group Islands section of Pacific Rim National Park, the journey takes you past deserted beaches and unspoiled scenery as we wind our way through the sheltered waters of these islands. Experience the magic of being anchored in pristine surroundings: savour the silence and take in the magnificent scenery while enjoying a gourmet lunch prepared by local chef, Matt Guest.
By zodiak: An extra wide 12 passenger Zodiac and a former Seal Team transport boat in the US Navy– offering you the best of both worlds; incredible speed with the stability of a large vessel and the smaller boat advantage of staying up close and personal with nature. Listen to the whales using on-board hydrophone technology during your interpretive tour through the world famous Broken Group Islands in Pacific Rim National Park. Eagles, Sea Lions, Gray Whales, Orcas and Humpback Whale sightings occur from March through October. View the various abandoned Toquaht and Tseshaht First Nations whaling village sites along the outer Ucluelet coastline. To help you identify many of the marine species we encounter, we supply you with laminated species ID cards in English, German and French. “Whale watching and wildlife viewing from a zodiac is a profoundly more intimate way of experiencing a whale encounter”.

Day 2: Your choice of Land Tour:
Personally guided 4X4 Tour. This is a fully guided day tour that will give you the opportunity to view black bears, bald eagles and wildlife in their natural setting. Your guide will teach you about past and present forestry practices to increase your knowledge of a working forest. Plan on being picked up after your breakfast in the morning at your accommodation and plan on being returned in time for supper. We supply a gourmet homemade picnic lunch with several assorted beverages. This tour offers phenomenal opportunities for scenic photography. Whether it be scenery, people or wildlife we will go to the unusual places that gives you the chance to not only photograph truly different views but to also experience them personally.
Guided sightseeing / easy hiking tours, transportation via a new 15 passenger van - An all day tour through the different ecological regions on the boardwalks and trail systems of the Pacific Rim National Park. For the more experienced hiker we offer a moderately difficult hike to the Provincial Heritage Site of the 1950’s crash of the WWII Bomber Plane or a challenging hike from Radar Hill Viewpoint to Radar Beach. Check out the tidepools teaming with life and learn the history of the land and the people. If we are lucky we may see: Bald Eagles, Trumpeter Swans, bears, sea lions, seals, and a host of other large and small animals
